Laws for one and Law's for another

A while ago about 5 months I think it was a despicable fraudulent bastard was thrown out (or did he resign willingly?) of the cabinet hierarchy for fiddling with his boyfriends expenses sorry fiddling the tax man to the tune of £40,000 while claiming rent for accommodation which was owned by and shared with, his then current boyfriend.

A while before the election loomed around 2007/8 shadow chancellor George(Gideon) Osborne offered Laws, who is generally seen, along with other Orange Book authors, as being on the right-wing of the Lib Dems, a seat in the Conservative shadow cabinet, but was rebuffed, with Laws saying "I am not a Tory, and if I merely wanted a fast track to a top job, I would have acted on this instinct a long time ago."

It did not take him long after the election however to get his feet firmly under the table establishing a reputation for an uncompromising approach to cutting the cost of government as quickly and as ruthlessly as possible, a shame for the conservatives then that he was found unfit for high office and thrown out into the wilderness.

Coincidently regarding fraud to the tax payer i post here a copy of Manchester evening news report.

Anthony Austin, 58, of Holford Avenue, Fallowfield, was convicted on 9 July of fraudulently claiming housing and council tax benefit, carers allowance and income support amounting to £5,873.01.

Austin pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to claiming benefit between September 2008 and September 2009, after failing to disclose he was in employment. Magistrates sentenced him to a 100-hour Community Punishment Order and ordered him to pay £150 court costs.

Khalid Durma, 30, of Ledburn Close, Hulme, was convicted of fraudulently obtaining housing benefit and job seeker’s allowance amounting to £3,308.54.

Or how about this woman?.......a 28 year old woman from Angus Close in Chessington who stated she was not related to her landlord when in fact the owner of the property was her mother. As well as being ordered to repay the £34,326.48 of benefits she had falsely claimed and costs of £685.00, she was sentenced to two months imprisonment suspended for 18 months and was ordered to undertake 300 hours of unpaid work and 30 hours of Employment Training Education.

2 months imprisonment a criminal record 300 hours community service £685 costs and pay back the fraudulently claimed money, what chance has that woman of ever getting a job in charge of anything other than a brush and shovel sweeping the roads?

Now contrast that with MP David laws who has had to survive 5 months in the underworld(back benches)on normal salary of £64,766 per annum coupled with £20,000 minimum expenses still leaves him £10,000 better off after he has paid back the fiddled money, but what are his prospects after this disastrous mistake of being found out...

A welcome back with open arms of course by the man with the brightest of judgement big Dave Cameron the same man who appointed lord never had it so good laws to the cabinet along with his endorsement of the brilliant breeding lord flight two men who are the bastions of the conservatives. Reminding all how they think of the poor and disabled of out nation. to top it off the great new challenge for "Dave" is to find out how the nation feels .

He has in my opinion lost his fucking marbles or is being primed by the other lying complicit bastard in number ten (coulson) to deflect the main press stories away from the civil rights infringement of the protesting students who were herded like sheep(sorry to good a phrase for sheep are well looked after)into corners and held against their will because of 'Public security'

Because you want it all not to happen and just go away you stupid wanker, how did you think the country and the students were going to take the news that a party in coalition had deliberately lied to obtain power for themselves and are in continual denial that they have done anything whatsoever wrong. below is an extract from law....

Fraud Act 2006, Sec 2

2. Fraud by False Representation

(1) A person is in breach of this section if he—
(a) dishonestly makes a false representation, and
(b) intends, by making the representation—

(i) to make a gain for himself or another, or
(ii) to cause loss to another or to expose another to a risk of loss.

(2) A representation is false if—

(a) it is untrue or misleading, and
(b) the person making it knows that it is, or might be, untrue or misleading.

(3)“Representation” means any representation as to fact or law, including a representation as to the state of mind of—

(a) the person making the representation, or
(b) any other person.
(4) A representation may be express or implied.
(5) For the purposes of this section a representation may be regarded as made if it (or anything implying it) is submitted in any form to any system or device designed to receive, convey or respond to communications (with or without human intervention).

Recognise any breaches of contract by any politician? well if you think you know of someone who has broken their promise why not send him/her a message like I did just copy and paste the letter and ask your MP to forward it as you are not allowed to contact any other MP outside your constituency...

My name is _____________ and my address is ________________________________________________________________________ I wonder if you could pass on the following message to Vince cable as I am unable due to Westminster protocol send and receive communication from him as I am not a constituent member of his.I would also like it if you also took note of it for your own records so you may realise the disgust we the voters(possibly not all but many) feel about your continued support for what can only now in my opinion be described as a condemnation coalition held together for the benefit of politicians who pledged to serve the community electing them rather than for the good of the people. Dear Mr Cable,

You say "We didn't break a promise. We made a commitment in our manifesto, we didn't win the election. We then entered into a coalition agreement, and it's the coalition agreement that is binding upon us and which I'm trying to honour,"

1. The Lib/Dem pledge ("posters" you signed and used to get votes) said "vote against" - not "we will not increase ..." but that you would "vote against" and that implies action when you have not won the election as, had you won the issue would not arise as you would not be proposing any increase. Thus your pledge was on the assumption you would not win the election.

2. If you make an agreement with somebody (pledge/promise) that is binding and CANNOT be voided by a conflicting agreement made subsequently with another party (without the agreement of those the initial pledge was with). That you do not appreciate this is something of a concern given your responsibilities in government !!

3. Abstaining is very different from voting against. Lib/Dems could stop this happening (as you promised the electorate when seeking their votes).

4. You seem to be getting confused between a "manifesto commitment" and the completely separate pledges on student fees you signed. Of course you can change a manifesto commitment after an election. However, the Lib Dem pledges (separate agreements signed by ALL Lib Dem candidates) are completely separate and represent a contract. Thus any Lib/Dem MP who fails to vote against the student fee increase is in breach of contract. Again, given your role in government one might have hoped you would have appreciated that and that you don't gets kind of worrying !!.

5. Many people voted for your party based on a promise you made, one which you now claim was effectively broken through an agreement with the Conservatives a matter of days after you had benefited from that promise (with votes) and which it seems the Lib/Dems no longer intend to honour. I think your actions speak for themselves.

6. During the later stages of the previous Parliament MPs of all parties were concerned that the public held them in such low esteem. MPs (of all parties) appreciated that it was their own actions that had brought this crisis on themselves. Shortly after those events we now find a party who make a promise to get people's votes them immediately break that promise for their own "convenience". MPs wonder why the public remains so cynical about the character of politicians.
I did vote Lib Dem at the last election. I felt at the time that your party had a lot of offer. Never ever again. The behaviour of your party since the election has shown how you treat the electorate (promise anything to get their votes and break it immediately). When next election your party says "we will ..." do you expect anybody to believe you ?

I now pledge never to vote Lib Dem again - and unlike some I keep my pledges.
Well that's my rant for the day more tomorrow.I PREDICT A RIOT

Lib DEMs,= to my mind, the Best " Political Prostitutes" on the planet, the best thing since Mandy Rice Davies, and already available sitting in parliament, just offer them any position and they are yours for the taking.
