Idiom 3. not a jot or little, not a bit; not at all: The world situation matters not a jot or tittle to him. Origin: 1520–30; earlier iot, iote

The recent crisis unfolding Ironically within the Eurozone is centred on Greece, home to the very idea of democracy. From Greece came the fundamental basics used by western civilisations for centuries to govern their own countries and peoples.

Is it not now Ironic that the true democracy of that country is being stolen by the Germans and French demands for control over their public services with demands for cuts in numbers and quality whilst also demanding people be thrown on the scrap heap for the sake of a dream which cannot in reality come true?

Their(the EU political parasites) dream is a European Nation United and bonded, tied inextricably together financially as well as politically with the strongest nations reaping the rewards and benefits for their own peoples whilst the lower order countries now enslaved with debt created immorally by the bankers supply little more than repayments in the form of austere measures so that the stronger parts of this new nation may thrive.

The trouble these days for our "democratic society" is that it has been high jacked by career politicians(parasites) whose only aim in life is to get into power and to hold on to power by doing whatever it takes. They care not one jot about the man in the street other than they need to promise him something to get his vote. Occasionally they have to actually do something for them but it is generally very little(because of economic circumstances) and is often too late to help.

My own ideas for a Re-vamped democratic parliament in Westminster is a simple one which I now present to those who give a jot.

1st order of the day is the abolition of the whip system within the house of commons> not the abolition of parties or membership of those parties but the means by which a party uses its power to force through policy decisions which are not in the best interest of all the people and merely serve the interests of the party.

2nd each and every candidate for election to a parliamentary seat must have been born within the boundaries of that seat(this will prevent the practise of parachuting in political careerists)so that they have a connection to the people within the seat which they wish to represent.

3rd There should be a budget for each individual candidate regarding promotion of themselves or their affiliations to any party they wish, this is to be strictly adhered to and not to exceed £10,000 per campaign.(this will restrict every party to an overall expenditure of £600,000) this restriction will allow focus on the real issues to be campaigned upon which the people will be in charge of rather than being driven by the party machine.

4th All candidates shall have equal access to all resources within the community and not just council owned run property, for example:- During such campaigns should candidate "A" have a brother running and makes available to him an auditorium for public meetings then the same venue should be made available at the same cost to every candidate within the constituency.

5th Any political broadcasts on behalf of Any party shall be restricted to a certain monetary outlay to be determined by mediation between the parties including those smaller parties to once again allow equal opportunities for all.

6th any political accusations made by any one party about another must be capable of being proven in a court of law, simply saying candidate/party "a" are lying about their proposals for reform of the welfare system must be a truthful statement.

7th Should a manifesto be drawn up containing cast iron "promises" then these "promises" shall be subject to accountability within law.

8th In the event of a "hung" parliament then any and all negotiations between parties shall be recorded by an independent body and any such manifesto for action derived from these negotiations will become subject to the same law of promise in individual manifesto.

9th No Member of parliament shall hold any other office other than that of a member of parliament no matter if it is an unpaid advisory role.

10th Each member of parliament will be given a salary of £100,000 p.a. which will be inclusive, there will be no payment for expenses no matter how incurred, the only exceptions to this will be some "perks" afforded to ministerial positions regarding transport for security reasons only. Plus an allowance of £10,000 p.a. for rental of an office within their constituency to be paid from public funds. So in effect if an MP wishes to employ his/her family as assistants/researches then they are free to do as they wish.

11th The house of frauds shall be an elected group of 300 elected in the same manner as the house of commons excepting that there shall not only be no whip system but there shall be no allowance for party membership either. A further 100 members will be made up of representatives from the churches 25 and business leaders 75 their manner of choosing to be based on a simple majority amongst candidates. The basic Idea is that any number of business leaders may apply to sit(hopefully more than the required number will apply) A simple poll of those wishing to become members who will vote for the members they would like to sit with allowing those with most votes to take up position. The 100 permanent members will be allocated such expenses as seen fit by the other elected members(300) the elected members will be required to attend on a daily basis for a minimum period of 6 hours per day 6 days per week for which a salary commensurate with the MPs.

12th All civil service positions shall be subject to review and those who have served longer than 10 years in one department will be moved to another position.

I know most of these proposals make little or no sense to many but without real change there will be no future for many within the united kingdom.

At the moment the only reason a candidate will knock on your door is because his/her party need you to vote for the party, I believe they should be knocking on your door because they want to represent you primarily and not their party.
